DataHub is quite great but I find dbt's approach to generating documentation out of your code to be the most elegant

Datahub came up quite a few times! But I also like storing as much as I can metadata wide in code. I would say there are other points like table usage and data quality scores that probably aren't managed by dbt correct?

yeah that's right because dbt doesn't have that mechanism within it but i imagine someone would build that support in eventually, would be a great addition.

I would love it if they did! I don't see how it would smoothly do it with its current set up. I imagine a partnership with a DQ tool that already exists would be an easier and possibly higher ROI path forward.

What about https://www.tableau.com/products/add-ons/catalog? Salesforce seems to invest a lot into this plugin.

I haven't used it just yet. Do you like it?

Played around with it. Indeed, as Apple or Google products, it has this certain "joy of use" (great ux). Would love to hear your feedback once you tried it out.

Data Hub for me is the best . But needs a tech savvy group of users

Yes, I would say datahub was the most common solution that came up when I interviewed people. That piece will be coming out later on my youtube channel.
